What should I put in the Run?

Is there a specific kind of wood chips? I may order wood chips and some pine mulch as suggested by goldysgirl

What do you have available without it being ordered and/or shipped? I use pine chips, but that's because it is what is around and what I can get for free. When a chipper dumps a load off on the side of the road somewhere, it gets shoveled into the back of a pickup and brought home!

Use what you got.... it doesn't have to be expensive.

To be honest I don’t think we have one here we are in Western Alaska a place that’s called Bethel it’s kinda like a village stuff has to be barged up in summer or flown here

Think outside the box...

I get my pine shavings for FREE from two different sources. One is a guy with a sawmill that mills lumber to build houses and do custom woodwork (bars, countertops, decorative beams, mantles, etc.). The other is a guy that builds custom furniture and cabinets and has his own woodshop and sawmill. These are small town artisans that make things from locally sourced lumber.
