what should i put in the bottom of my brooder?

Paper towels, carpet squares (spray with the hose and dry in the sun), rubber shelf liner (again, spray with the hose), or pine chips after they are about 1 week old.

I use a layer of textured paper towels. they are cheap and easy to clean up when the poop gets to much. the texture helps with preventing spraddle leg issues.
