What sickness killed my Alpha?

I tried looking up more on it, but can't find anything with the symptoms. Are there any illnesses that it could be, or am I just asking a pointless question? I'm sure you would have told me, but it's there anything it resembles?

Thank you for your time! Will definitely keep a special eye out for sick chickens. One of my other roosters seems sick, but his symptoms are quite different and he seems better than he did the other day. Again, thank you!

Most chicken ailments have very close to the same symptoms. I think if anyone else does the same thing I would send him for a necropsy. I hope it doesn't happen to anyone else. Once a week do a hands-on exam just to know if anyone is losing weight. Always look at the poop under their roost to keep tabs on their health. As Casportpony will tell you, poop can tell you alot about chicken health.

I didn't want to go there! Your roo does sound like my first marek's victim, like falling on his face and not able to correct himself. . It's like they lose control of their wings, then their neck. Very sad.

You mention you have another rooster that seems sick? Mind telling us about that?

He had a limp for a little while, but that's faded. I didn't get a close look at it because he is a very mean rooster and I would have needed help. He seemed alright, but one day he didn't sleep in the roost and I found him laying in a nesting box the next morning. It was odd when he let me pull him out without freaking out. He just stood and walked back onto the box. I took him and separated him. His comb and face seemed to have a blueish tint and he slept most that day. The next day he was up and about more, the blue not as visible. Yesterday and today he's just been a little off balance, but the blue is about gone and he is flying onto a three foot tall ledge to sleep at night while he was sleeping on the ground before.

That doesn't sound to good.
So he still has some balance issues?
A comb/face turning blue or purple would indicate lack of oxygen. He may have some heart issues or it really could be a number of things.

It sounds like you are doing what you can. I would suggest getting some poultry vitamins into him that contain E, B1. If you happen to lose him, sending him for necropsy would give you some answers. You could also do your own if you are up to it, look at the internal organs, intestines, etc. Sometimes you might find something obvious. Take photos if you wish, post them here on your thread, we can try to help you with what you see.

The balancing isn't as much of a problem as it was. When he was in with the flock he got taken down by one of my Silkie roos. That was the day before I found him all sick.
