what size bulb?

I will be getting 3 ameraucana chicks soon. I have a homemade brooder for them, but I'm not sure what size bulb to put them under. They will be around 1 month old, and the temps will be in the 40's at night, 60's during the day. I have a 250 red bulb, but is that too much?

That shouldn't be too much for them. Just make sure they can move closer to or farther away from it if they get too cold or too hot.

Ok. It is a 2x3 box, so they should be able to if I put it on one end.
