My pop door is 9x12 and can accomodate this Sussex rooster no problem. I wish I would have cut the opening about a foot off the floor especially over the winter when the deep liter starts to accumulate (my coop is small only a 4x8 foot print and I have kept as many as 24 birds in their no problems (that many is not recommend for such as small coop). So I'm converting a shed in my yard into a coop for my 13 chickens what size entrance do I need

I was going to be sure to point that out if no one else had, something that tends to be done a lot. You can just cut it taller and board up the bottom of itThe bolded is such a good point - my husband did me a "favor" and cut the hole for the pop door before discussing it with me and just assumed it should be at floor level without realizing my intent was to DLM. He was so pleased with himself I didn't have the heart to tell him that was not such a good idea. I've since used a spare board to create the "lip" that would have been there had it been cut higher.
