What size of run for 22 girls

Im currently debating about expanding my coop from 8x10 to 18*10 which would eliminate the current run they have of 10x8 because i have 12 chicks to add to my clock of ten (although i will rehoming approx 4 due to them being roosters) i will only be left with approx 10x8 of an area to build the run in...
Im just worried it wont be enough room

As long as you have comfortable roost space I'd go as big as you can with the run and at least partially covered. The run should be close to 12×16 for 20 birds if possible.

What people have, what actually works well for them and what will work for you could be very different things.
Common 'rule of thumb' is 10 sqft per bird in the run and 4 sqft in the coop, which is a minimum for confined birds, IMO.

I wanted more birds, but learned the first winter that my space is just not going to allow it....
.......for both the birds well being and regarding certain maintenance aspects.

It also can be highly dependent on your climate and whether you can free range year round.
Heavy snow accumulation can drastically reduce your birds space, most birds do not like to wander on the snowpack, unless you have a large run with a solid roof.
