do you all have on the bottom of your cages? I have 1 inch by half inch which works fine but i am converting a 5X9 rabbit hutch for the quail and right now it has half inch by half inch.....not sure if this will be big enough for the quail poop to fall thorugh.

    What do you think?

I use 1" x 1/2" wire too. The 1"x1" wire is too big, and the 1/2"x1/2" won't let the poop fall through a lot of the time. You can try the 1/2"x1/2" and see how it works, but my guess is you'll have to change it.

Some folks use 1/2" x 1", but I use 1/2" x 1/2" on all my pens, and my Bobs get on this when they turn 1 week old with no problem.........and it still works excellent with the big honkin' jumbo Bobs. If any at all doesn't fall right on through, it won't be there long with enough foot traffic from those busy feet of theirs. [IMG]

Thanks everyone....as I was doing some work yesterday in my grow out pen I realized it has 1/2 inch on the bottom and I haven't had any issues with stuck poop. I laughed at myself when I realized this and was then able to answer my own question.

    DUH moment!![IMG]
