What snacks DON'T or chickens like???

I have 1 Barnevelder, and 3 Sussex/Barnvelder cross, they are all half sisters/sisters. They love tomatoes and will pick a watermelon down to the white rind. Haven't tried apricots, will give that a try. When we have really hot days I take out a half watermelon to the yard in the afternoon and it goes fairly quickly.

Great read. wow such variations. Mine won't touch raw vegetables but eat cooked brussels, shredded cabbage. They love cooked spaghetti (the organic stuff) sweet corn, fresh cut grass, banana, grated cheddar cheese, tiny pieces of chopped rump steak fat, chicken and scrambled or chopped boiled eggs..... Styrofoam ....I know. if they find it they scoff it. ewh.

I tried banana today! They didn't really care for it, they ate it a little bit. 2 didn't like it, 6 didn't really care, 2 eh, might as well eat it, 2 like it, my BOs. The aren't really picky.

Made a concoction today for the hens, a mixture made of yogurt, steamed-rice, blueberries with their layer pellets sprinkled on the top. They ate everything except the blueberries and some of the layer pellets that got mushy.

They're still work'n on the pellets that are crunchy.

is celery good for the hens?

It won't harm them! Mine especially like the leaves from top.
Mine looked at me like I was trying to poison them when I tried out celery tops! Hung it next to the swiss chard - the chard disappeared within 10 minutes, the celery was still there 48 hours later. It's now on the compost heap, being studiously ignored by the girls as they dig it over - there's no accounting for taste!

Mine especially hate carrots and lettuce. They actually glare at me when I offer it up for a treat. On a somewhat related note, any suggestions for healthy treats I can give my ducks? They get all jealous and quacky when I give treats to the chickens, but the ducks don't like anything! I've tried small amounts of cooked pasta, peas, corn, etc.... and they hate it all.

Our flock of randoms LOVE black wild sunflower seeds and freeze dried meal worms by Happy Hen Treats. Our peacocks boycott their food if we don't have sunflower seeds in it. They usaully only eat them actually!
