Egg turners generally do not use timers. They use 12v ultra low rph motors in lieu of a timer. The eggs get turned 3-4x in a 24 hour period. It's nearly impossible to see the movement of a purchased turner when watching it it is so slow.

It’s 2.5 to 3 revolutions per minute is what that means clockwise or counterclockwise. I figure I could use a potentiometer also. It just seems like it is going to turn way too fast I am going to try something else right now. You are correct about the timer not affecting the speed but the timer will control how far it moves per second so if I set the timer for 2 seconds every three or four hours that is going to get the correct rotation if that is the right equation you follow meNot sure what that second to the last line means. Maybe translate for me. The timer won't effect speed of the motor. Off/on function only. If it turns that fast in one minute then I think your solution is a rheostat to slow the motor down and/or using different gearing to slow the speed down at tray level.
I don't want to dissuade you from your efforts but why. Sometimes just because it can be done doesn't me we should do it. I guess it's the value of our time.
