What started as an FFA project has turned into a family obsession

Thanks for the warm welcome ^^ My girls have actually been laying quite nicely were getting on average a dozen a day, seems a few haven't gotten the memo that they need to earn there keep and would rather lye about in the sun and sand bath rather then lay, but that's ok we'll keep them anyway.

That's how I got into chickens, too! My younger sister raised rabbits and chickens and we never showed them because she got too attached, haha! Then I was gifted with a really lovable rooster who would jump up on my shoulder and peck through my hair. I ended up taking over the flock after I finished with college.

Needless to say, I love it and I'm glad you do, too! It's a great experience and it really is rewarding. Seeing your happy chickens clucking around the yard, scratching up bugs is such a calming sight. Plus, they make you breakfast!
