Lions and bears?
Is it super common for lions to eat their young?? I've never heard of that being a regular behavior.

I mean, I know when a new male takes over they'll kill the cubs from the other male, but that's not really their OWN young.

I thought lions were pretty maternal, no? I mean, I'm sure there are some that do but is it super common?

Hmmm good point. I’m not sure. I was thinking of the males killing other cubs and same for bears but idk how often the females or fathers kill their own young.

Yeah, same with bears. Males kill the offspring of the mother to mate with her (if she has any), not knowing if they are their's. Most of the time, they're from a rival male
