Anyone got any advice on training him? He's got the hang of sit, stay, heel, no, off, come, and fetch, but can't seem to understand lie down or be quiet. Once he obeys the basics without hesitation, I'm going to teach him more advanced stuff, like defense commands (attack, defend, tackle, seize, etc.) and searching (both human search and rescue, and explosive detection) but he has to learn to put complete, full trust in me first, and to obey without stopping to think about it, or he'll never be ready for that.

I taught my pitbull to lay down after I snapped my finger and put my index finger on the floor. Everyone that seen him do that was just mind boggled bc I weigh 110 and he weighed 88
