What The??? Bantam Rooster Australorp Hen

Oof! I have no clue how they did it, but they did. My small Bantam Rooster, only Rooster I have, managed to breed with my Australorp hen. I only know this because I gathered eggs yesterday and the one I used was fertile. I'm not going to collect from her anymore. It will be interesting to see what the chicks look like.

Has anyone else experienced this? She's a big hen. Not sure how my little guy managed it. LOL

Where there's a will, there's a way. Many bantam roosters learn how to 'make contact' with full sized hens.

It's not uncommon to have that happen. Roosters are crafty and mother nature is full of surprises!

Yes my recently acquired Japanese bantam cockerel has done the deed with the Australorp, Leghorn, Brahma and ISA/Lohman Brown.
Eggs are solely for consumption
