What the buff?

So we had got a batch of 10 buff orpington pullets. Eggcept 4 of them are red...any ideas on what they might be? They also have a few black tail feathers. About 8 weeks old.

We were actually looking at getting NHR or RIR but with the chicken frenzy this year couldn't get any. Guess we might have anyway.

We bought day old chicks from a local feed store. Cackle hatchery is where they get them.

Ah, I though the post said "hatch" but it says "batch" lol. I thought you got eggs and hatched them. If they are hatchery chicks then you've got a New Hampshire Red there.

Huh, you wanted NHRs but you couldn’t get any, so you got buff Orpingtons, and some of them ended up being NHRs. If this is anything this is amazing luck on your end, it truly is.
