What the freak is this Egg? (Graphic Photos)

Hello, My 3 year old girl hasn’t been laying properly for quite awhile. Then all of a sudden she had a few beautiful eggs and then stopped again. Today I found a soft shelled thing and it’s crazy creepy looking.
I’ve had weird eggs before and I know it can happen, but this one is freaking me out. I cut it in half and it was deep red.
Does anyone have any idea what would cause this type of egg? Could something serious be going on that will be fatal to her?
She was acting normal and eating and drinking until today, she wasn’t as pushy to get her treats. Thanks for any thoughts

That is a strange one! Is a vet an option? I ask because of she were mine i would probably treat her for a reproductive tract infection with Baytril and some Meloxicam for pain and swelling.

Baytril is banned for use in poultry, but it really is the best drug for reproductive tract infections.

Looks like an intact ovum still encased in the follicle. That was incorporated into a shell along with albumen.

It was defiantly a surprise but that egg went in the trash First time and so far the last.
