8 weeks old and all 8 babies are doing great, but with exception of the obvious cockerel, I'm still not certain on sex. They're mixed breed, random hatching eggs I got from a lady with about 30+ birds running around her property. Dad is supposedly her RIR, though she did have three other roosters. Moms were all over the map- EEs, Buff orp, even a couple dark brown egg layers.

I tried to get profile pics of all 8 this morning. I can try to get individual face pics on request but they move around a lot and I didn't feel like spending all morning chasing each one down for a glamour shot when there's still laundry and dishes that need doing, lol.

First pic is a group shot. Starting at the very top, from left to right we have Kanaya, Darkness, and the cockerel Ranger. Then there's Chicken Nugget off on her own, Skeletor, Red and Solay in the middle, then Stormy hanging out with momma Blue on the far right. My 7 year old named most of them, can you tell???

Starting with Ranger, he's pretty obvious.

Next is Chicken Nugget (Blue is photobombing in almost all of these lol)

Here's Darkness on the left, Chicken Nugget in the middle, and Solay on the right.

Skeletor

Red, the friendliest and also my daughter's favorite

And last is Stormy and Kanaya.

Thoughts on what breed(s) you think they are would be entertaining too, but not really important to me haha.

Here's some attempted comb shots of those four.

Chicken Nugget. It's got exactly zero wattle development, unlike the others.

Stormy

Stormy I was also pretty sure is a cockerel before posting but I'm glad to have the confirmation. I'm only keeping one of the boys, and it's gonna be hard to pick between Solay, who's super pretty, and Stormy, who is almost as friendly as Red and Chicken Nugget.

All cockerels. The pea comb limits wattle development and the muffs/beard gene prevents them from developing at all.

Skeletor Darkness and Red I would say are your only pullets. Comb pics for them would help confirm but based on coloring that's my guess. Sorry you got so many boys. :)

They're beautiful. My favorite colorwise is Stormy. He'll possibly also get the deep red leakage in the shoulder if he's from EE versus Ameracauna breeding. They usually do.

That's just the way the odds shake, haha. Most of them are sweet and personable except for Ranger, who won't let you get near him, and also tends to wonder off from the main flock. I'm going to rehome the boys we don't keep, but my guess is he's gonna end up a stewpot bird.

Chicken Nugget is the second friendliest bird after Red, and also my daughter's second favorite, so he'll probably end up the keeper, but I do really love Stormy And Solay's colors. Picking just one is hard!
