Yikes! That thing is hideous! While traveling down the 'tube' it looks like your egg picked up a bit of extra 'material' along the way. This is normal to see in young pullet, but if I see this in an older hen, I keep an eye on her as she might be developing issues with her reproductive tract.

It looks like a version of a meat spot. That one looks like something sloughed off in the body cavity, probably a bit of an organ, and made its way to where the egg white was forming before the shell went around the yolk in the shell gland. Most are not that big.

I'll include a link that talks about some common egg quality problems. It's written mostly for the commercial operations, that's why some of the write-up is like that. It can happen to any hen at any time but is more common in older layers or in pullets just starting to lay. The commercial operations automatically candle the eggs they sell so consumers don't see that. All the different things that can be wrong with an egg are why I suggest we always crack our eggs in a separate bowl before we mix them with anything but you obviously can't do that with boiled eggs.

Some hens are more prone to meat spots or blood spots than others. If it is an occasional event I don't consider it a big deal. If it is regular with a hen then you might want to try to Identify which hen is laying it.

You can eat those, it won't hurt you. If I'm scrambling eggs I might use them with a small blood spot but I have trouble getting by the Yuk Factor with meat spots. If I can't remove it I don't use the egg.
