All I can say is, the more I learn, the more ignorant I feel! I have 2 roosters and 4 hens at the moment, according the the woman we purchased them from, as chicks, they are mixed chickens of the RIR/Barred Rock/Ameracauna (EE?) breeds. I think I have 5 of them ID'd (couple of Amerauna/EE Roos, 2 black sex-link hens, 1 RIR hen), but this one is just weird, to me anyways. I am a relative neophyte, so any help in IDing the breed/mix of this one would be appreciate. (Its the one in the middle, in case it wasn't obvious).

Thanks!

Can Ameracaunas be wheaton? She has some of the characteristics of my wheaton Maran Hen....pretty girl. I'll take her if you don't want her

She's different then the other hens, almost acts male at times, a bit more aggressive and curious. She seems to have a longer neck than the others. Red face is kinda cool too.

She is a very pretty mixed bird that is most likely half game. You can tell by looking at those long legs and general body type. Games tend to be more feisty, and witty. As for what breed of game?

I would second the notion that there could be some game bird in her. But then again I had a Leghorn that literally looked like the cartoon character "Miss Prissy", the old hen who kept trying to woo Foghorn Leghorn. Long neck, long skinny body and long legs. Minus the glasses and silly voice.

And yes, all sorts of the "Caunas" come in Wheaton.

She's a pretty/cool looking bird.
