What the heck kinda egg is this?! (now with 3 pics)

What can I say WOW! I have never seen anything like that!! Even when I get a frozen egg,it still looks normal!

It does look like a frozen egg - very weird. take a knife to that and break it open.

Sometimes you get a blood or tissue spot. Though I must say the yolk is huge! Are you sure that is a yolk and not another egg in there just covered with a layer of yolk?

The reason you don't get those in the grocery store is that the eggs are candled and the ones with blood or tissue spots are tossed out for those not used to real eggs.

So I dissected it... and A LOT of yolk came pouring out. Whatever the yolk was in (the round yellow thing on the plate) basically deflated it was weird and gross!

I once cracked an egg that had another egg in it. It sort of looks like that was trying to be another egg without the shell part, just the membrane. Strange.

I wonder how big a duckling from this egg would have been with all this nutrition, given the egg being fertile.

Yeah, that's definitely pretty gross...

Never seen anything like it from any of my girls. Although the first soft shell egg I got freaked me out pretty bad too. I knew what it was but it didn't stop me from thinking a snake or turtle had crawled up in the nest and layed an egg.

I'm guessing that inside part of your's was infact a second egg or starting of one. perhaps a super soft shell inside.

With any luck the little girl is just getting her system straight and the next one will be what we're all used to.
