That was hilarious. Some are double yolk and some arent.
 
I have two barred rocks that lay eggs just like that. Did yours start out like that? the one girls first egg was just that long but really skinny and then just started getting fatter as time went by.It was kind of weird having eggs taller than an egg carton but skinny enough to fall over when you put it in there.
 
Yes she has always laid funny eggs. And now they are huge. She is the only one.
 
I'm sorry folks, sometimes these things just "blurt" out! Old folks humor, I guess! LOL:P
 
I have a production RIR that lays eggs just like those. As a pullet her eggs looked more normal. But this year they got longer, and sometimes lumpier. "Torpedo" is exactly the word we use. The lid on an egg carton doesn't even come close to shutting on them.
 
I have two Rhode Islands and two New Hampshires and they lay some of those oblong eggs, too. They look kind of weird but still good!
