I found this in the hen-house this morning. One of the pullets it seems is finally laying....
 
Looks like a shellless egg. Nothing to worry about. especially in a new layer.

It's quite the sight when you first see them. Good you found it before they dug in and ate it.

I found one of my girls layed a "fail egg" and then came out of the coop....so I thought she was done. My daughter handed her over the fence and I noticed she had some runny clear stuff hanging down...like egg white. So I watched her for a while and she was walking kind of funny.

She hunkered down after a few minutes...and then out popped a yolk! That was it, just a yolk right there on the grass. I snatched it up without thinking...and there it sat in my hand. LOL, icky! Sometimes we get the soft shells and sometimes we get double yolks...mostly they are normal now. We have 8 that are about 4 months old....we will have many more fail eggs. LOL

Had one of those a few months ago.. when they first started to go into full molt!! I kept it in the fridge to show everyone.. It dried up...
