What time do chickens lay eggs??

Well I think I'm very lucky with what I've read here so far.. lol My Daisy started laying last week. She lays every 25 hours like clockwork, her eggs are perfect and she's ALWAYS laid them in her nest.. either the one in their coop or the one in their play area, depending on where they're at when she's due to lay!! So I just honestly couldn't be happier or more proud of my baby girl!!!!

Is she the only one laying or did she follow the example of others?

She's the only one. I only have two gals. She's my Barred Rock. I also have an Easter Egger. They were hatched together and are inseparable. I'm hoping that when Olivia, my EE starts laying.. that SHE will follow Daisy by example. I'd be one lucky chicken mama if she does right? Lol lol I'm just truly blessed.. I was SO worried how it would all turn out, and it was all in vain because she's done perfectly!!

I see from your picture that you seem to have a BR as well, right? How old is yours? What other type of chickens do you have? Are they laying yet?

They are 21 weeks old.

How old are they? The EEs I'm getting this week will be 18 weeks old Thursday.

Ooooh COOL you're getting EE too!! Mine are 21 weeks old. Best of luck with yours!! Where are you getting them from?? Are they rescues??

Mine lay between 9-12 maybe after that too. Depends on their cycle.

I didn't know it was called "squatting" until I read this thread. Lol. I have two hens that squat when I reach them.
1 white leghorn and 1 EE. They look so funny/cute when they do that.
The other 6 RiRs don't squat. In fact, one RiR goes "Hey hey! Don't touch me *peck*"

The 2 Rocks and 2 NH Reds are about 25 weeks old, they should lay....... I think. 3 18 week old EEs coming late this week. the first 4 came from McMurrays hatchery in Waco. The EEs are coming from Meyer hatchery.
