What time do you let your hens out in the morning?

I let them out about 7:45am because I leave for work by 8.

We have a light on in the coop that comes on at about 4 am so they are up and kicking early, so I let them out as early as the first ray of sun shows up around 7:30 lately. That's when I get the kids on the bus too.

LOL LOL yes, my husband's latest rant... "do you know what HAPPENS when it's this cold outside?!!?"

I make my husband snow blow paths all over for the chickens to "free range" on. They're so cute, they scratch around on the snow, picking up little seeds and such that blow down from the trees. And I do sprinkle scratch around on the paths.

Mine have a heat lamp on 24/7 so they're used to the light, and it doesn't make much difference to them when first light is. I let them out whenever I get around to it... between 7:30 and 8:30 usually. Today, it's soooooo cold, I won't let them out at all.

I hear squawking around 7:15 or so while they are taking their turns in the egg department. After that, I go out with their a.m. treat and let them in the big run, so, that's around 7:30 ish.

Weekends are a little later - maybe 8:00, never too late tho, cause I miss them and have to go say "hi" to them.

We don't have a set time. It all depends on whats going on and if there have been any predators around in the mornings.
