WHAT TIME does your chickens lay their egg?

Mine are pretty consistent. . . when they start laying, they will lay at about 26 hour intervals, until they skip a day and start again the next morning. This was easy (and kind of fun) to track when I only had one laying, but now I just check the nest boxes when I get home from work and at "bedtime" before I lock them in for the night.

I asked this same question last week. From what I gather it will always vary. Here I thought they would eventually all lay in the morning.
Nope. Looks like it will be random forever. I will eventually free range but for now I am keeping them in the run until I get a better
egg in nest ratio. Right now its 50/50 in the nest box or in the middle of the coop.

I have only my one Silkie hen and two OEGB hens that I got from pamperedpoultry that are laying. Cheese, the Silkie, lays by 5pm everyday and the OEGBs lay in the afternoon, sometimes as late as 9pm.

I also have 1 Buff Orp, 1 Black Australorp, 1 RIR, 2 supposed Appenzellers (look more like Polish), and 2 Wyandottes that are NOT laying and they're all 6 months to 9 months. But they have a coop outside with no light. The bantam hens are in our garage/barn:lol: and lay every day.
