What time of day do your hens lay?

Mine start about 9am but they keep me guessing as to when and who is first and last and in-between. Today Goldie was first. Yesterday I went to the run before noon and found 4 eggs lined up in the large nest box (the fav) and one in Goldie's box and one in Ann-Margaret's box. Today Ann-Margaret was later in getting it done.

It depends on when I let them out of the coop. If I let them out at 6 I will get eggs as early as 9am and will get the last one usually sometime before 2. If I wait until 7:30-8 to let them out, they won't start laying until 11 but sometimes don't finish until 5 or 6pm. My hens are only laying every other day in the heat though. I get 7 eggs one day and the next I get 13. I have 20 that are laying right now and 6 more that should start next month or so. I have 3 boxes right now but they all use only 1 box. I have 6 boxes that are ready to be put in the coop when it cools off enough for us to work in there.

Today the temp was 99 with a heat index of 107. sigh.

I have 15 hens that lay between 10:30-4:30 (for the most part) and four more lazy pullets we are waiting on! They do seem to like the same boxes, we have six but two of the boxes have never even been touched by a hen!

Same here. Some days my husband lets them out as he leaves for work early, and I'll get eggs right around noon, before it starts getting too hot outside. On those days when hubby is running late and I let them out (whenever it is I get up, lol) then it's way later in the afternoon, after it starts cooling off again - sometimes as late as 5 or 6pm.

Mine usually lay before 11 in the morning.... and they also have 4 different boxes to choose from and none of them use them. They use the corner over behind their roost.
