What to do about Bobwhite injured from fighting?

Last Wednesday I picked up a pump bottle of Blu Kote at a Tractor Supply Co and, with a great deal of effort, I managed to catch, hold and spray the back of the Bobwhite's neck where all the feathers were missing. He doesn't seem to have gotten any worse since then but he doesn't seem much better either. At least no more feathers are missing, but he still looks pretty raggedy -- I haven't seen any of the other birds picking at his neck since I used the Blu Kote on him but then again it's hard to tell.

The directions say to apply this stuff morning and night...is that really necessary? Or is one time sufficient?

I Usually Just Apply The Stuff Enough To Keep The Open Areas Covered Until The Skin Heals... It Will Remain Featherless And Ragged Looking Until The Next Molt. Just Make Sure The Hide Under The Bare Spot Heals Then You Can Stop... 2 X's A Day Is Way Excessive In Most Cases For These Guys More Like Once Every 2 Or 3 Days...
