so i have kinda of posted what been going on we live in Las Vegas nevada and a few weeks ago we where hot hot hot 125+ and my chicks came inside on there own found the place where the fan and air was hitting and made them selfs at home i let this go on due to heat well last few days after storm hit has been nice we are only at 102 right now no humity its nice (well nice for Vegas that is) the chicks have access to the whole back yard upper yard with bushes and trees and grass, my garden area well right now guess where they are in there now claimed area in side the other day i chased them out of the room there was no reason for them to be in i went to main house came out could not find the chicks came in side they went through the dog door and back in there spot in the room (i have swamp cooler so the doggy door is blown open when door is shut a litte bit). Now summer is nto over yet so we will get hot again so like i said when we are hot hot hot i dont mind them in but i think there thinking this is more there home then there coop. at night now when i say bed time they run to the room not the coome then i have to chase them out and try to keep them from going back in while getting them intot the coop used to never be a prob i would say bed time and hold my arms out and winggle my fingers and they would go right into the coop. also whent they get scared they run to my room and there spot now instead of the coop.

ok so my point do i need to put my foot down they are not indoor chicks and i doing more harm then good letting them stay in or should i just let be what be there happy thats all that counts.

oh ya the chicken poo they have not been given treats so most is hard and while they are sleepign not big isuse i chase them out when there up and around so they know when they come in they have to lay down.

You have some spoiled chickens there. Personally I would give them the boot and make them stay outside. Maybe put a fan outside for them at least for a while till they become accustomed to the temp.

this is them right now they moved from the main dog bed to the blaket dog bed in the corner now if they walk in and dog is sleeping in bed they chase them out they have declared it theres and therew alone.

All that really counts or matters is where YOU want your chickens! If you want them to live outside, put them out. If you don't care if they come in and you don't mind the poop in your house, then let them in.

i really dont want indoor chickens come september there feather butts are getting the boot no matter what im just worried that when the september date comes they may be confussed or more upset that they will nto be allowed in for any reason. unless we get a pradection for a blizzared to come in but living in vegas i reallhy doubt that :)

I am a softie-- and whenever my animals are Happy I am Happy.... and like you said summer is not nearly over so I would save the confusion and wait and give them the boot when you are pretty sure summer is over....And you want them settled into their Winter routine....
