what to do for weight gaining

I have noticed before one of my silkies looseing weight but now it is past the limit.
she has lost too much. what and how much do I feed here? she is my smallest silkie,
no more then a pound.

You need to find out why she is losing weight. Otherwise it won't matter what you add and how much she eats. She may never hold or gain weight. Eliminate the cause and you may not have to feed her anything special. Make sure she has access to unlimited poultry feed and isn't being kept away by the others. You might want to deworm her if you haven't recently. A higher protein feed like gamebird and sunflower seeds or vegetable oils can add a lot of energy and put on weight quickly but you shouldn't have to do that long term or frequently. If it is more than a one time temporary weight loss then something is wrong and may cause the animal's death anyway even if you do manage to put weight on them.

How's her crop? I have a blue Orp hen who I believe is dying now. Her crop has quit working as it should. It's not sour or impacted and she has quit eating, probably because she knows it won't do any good. She has lost a massive amount of weight, in spite of working on her for over a week.
Internal laying in the final stages or worms can cause weight loss. You do need to find the cause of it.

she stuffs her self all day long, i'm thinking it's got to be something in her...like worms. I am gonna worm the flock tomarrow. she is the sweetest sweetheart ever (like all silkies

) I'm gonna be broke if she goes.

My son had a barred rock that would eat but not gain weight. This went on for about a month or so. Her crop was ok and I wormed her. She finally passed away last night. My son found her and is really upset.

They are his 4-H project and they are like his babies. We are really lucky becouse this is the first chicken we have lost and we got them in April this year. I dont know why this happend. Anyone have any ideas on what happend.Thanks~
