I have two turkey poults that are straving. Our oldest chick wasn't letting them eat. When I seperated the turkeys from the chick they immediately started eating. They were eating so fast they were choking themselves. They are fine it eventually went down on its own (and they eventually got full) but it made me think about what I would do if one of the birds was actually choking about to die. We have standard chickens, bantam chickens, ducks, turkeys and guineas. What do you do if any of them are choking?

I'm not sure there is anything to do if they are choking except to remove the food. You could look down into the throat and try to clear it, but it could cause it to go into the windpipe (trachea.) But I would add water to the feed to make it soupy to slow them down if it happens again.
