What to do once ducklings hatch from under mama?

Ok...I will probably just take them from her once they hatch...
Your mom duck will be depressed. That's why I asked if you were leaving her something. Some times they linger, sometimes they move off. I had one lose her single duckling. It was sad to watch. Best to pull ducklings quickly to alleviate the stress. Once she bonds it's way worse on them.

Oh, I didnt know this. Sorry for the wrong advice. I’ve only dealt with broody chickens and turkeys, not ducks. And I’ve also never taken away their last chicks, just taken away some from the group. The moms don’t seem to notice that. When they still have others.

Ok 👍 I am so thankful for all yalls advice and will do what I think will be best for my flock! I am using all the advice y’all have given me to make this work. Thanks so much! ❤️

Why can't you keep one or two?
I would love too and have been trying to figure out a way that I can but having both mom and dad there is bound to be some interbreeding and if so it wouldn’t be wise to hatch more ducklings( in an incubator or under a broody) as they could have some serious physical problems. ☹️

I've hatched from related pairs here. No extra heads yet. :) It generally is okay for a generation or two unless you have some serious faults or defects already.
