I am totally dumbfounded as what to do with my barred rock bantam hen . Roxie started laying about three months ago and in the last five weeks has been eggbound three times . Today was an emergency a few minutes ago until her egg popped out . I knew she was acting funny again last nite but just hoped it wasn't the egg stuck again . I brought her into the house and soaked her bum in warm water with a small amount of VetTRx . It seems to have a soothing effect on her . The last time a couple of weeks ago Ialso used a hairdryer , some oil which seemed to help . Roxie was bleeding bright red bloodthis time and I felt so bad for her .

My question is ....... What can I do to prevent this ? I have her inside until she dries and I feel confident she is alright . My husband bought her for me as a gift ( he doesn't really like chickens ) . Just want to make her life easier , she is such a precious little hen . Any suggestions ?
