what to do when it going to be 100 out

give them ventilation and shade, place jugs of frozen water in their coop, use a sprinkler system, water the ground to cool it off..

I'm guessing you live in an area where that's unusual. It will be upper 90's and 100's for the rest of the summer here, and I don't do anything special. There's plenty of shade and places to get a drink. Ours do alright, I hope yours will too.

Around here we would get very excited about the upcoming cool weather.

That's really not far from the truth, we've been 110 +/- for weeks here. Make sure your birds can get out of the sun at any time of the day (lots of shade) and make sure they always have plenty of water.

I'm here in Texas & its hotter than three hells with a lid on it. The problem in Texas is the humidity it really makes it miserable to be outside your constantly sweating. Anyway I'm glad I'm not a chicken wearing a down coat in this heat poor thing. I always add ice to their water er at least once a day. I have to change the water anyway. I also, give them refrigerated veggies from my garden. Do keep an eye on them . Good Luck I'm ready for winter already. I know the northerners aren't.

I live in Michigan and it's supposed to be toasty here this weekend too, I have found that the girls like it when I hose down their ground in the pen, sure it not only cools it off but brings up little treats too!

We have had many days of triple digit heat and the forecast is nothing but triple digits. We have the humidity too and I feel so bad for my chickens. Beyond the shade, ventilation, ice, and fresh water, I bought a mister at Lowe's today for $11.00 that stands upright and they are doing so much better today than they were by this time yesterday.
