My husband and I are new to raising chickens. My daughter and her husband bought 10 unsexed Silkie/RIR crossbreed for our 2 granddaughters to raise while the coop was being readied. They are now 9 weeks old and it appears that there are 4 roosters in the group. So far everyone is getting along.

How many roosters can I have and what do I do with the ones I can't keep?

Appreciate any advice.
Thanks
Pat

Depends - how much do you like eating chicken and dumplings?

A good guideline is one roo per twelve hens, personality, and setup also play's a big role so adjust your ratio as needed.

Rehome, Rooster Jail, Buy more Hens or Butcher are your options.
