Here's my problem. My coop is very hard to get into, but my black australorp can get out. When I'm gone for the day, I find her outside the coop the next day. Usually that's not a problem. But now I have 2 coons, (both male, thank god) 1 skunk, and I just saw a fox in a pasture about 1/4 mile from my house. I'm not sure what I'm going to do when I go on vacation. I might even have to lock her in a pet carrier. It's cruel, but then she woudn't be a midnight snack for predators.

IF she can get out, then predators can squeeze in. Can yhou find where she is escaping from and repair it? If you have to resort to caging her, try to find alarge dog kennel or such so she can move around would be my suggestion.

The way my chicken wire is set up, it can get out and predaotor's cant get in. My top row of wire is bent outward so anything trying to get in is walking upside down. But getting out is pretty easy because the effect is the opposite on the inside. I know how she gets out. I'm probably just going to run wire all the way to the roof of my barn.
