I got my first batch of chicken in the fall of 2017. Bought an Omlet run because I thought it would be the easiest way to construct a run although it ended up 4 people putting it together.
It's worked fairly well until this past year. All of a sudden I have wild bird flying in to get the chicken feed. Last year I draped netting on the side they were coming in but it didn't take them long to figure out another entrance. The netting does not work well. There are these huge shrubs on our neighbors property very close to our run and it seems like there must be thousands of birds living in them by the sound. Unfortunately I'm have way too many birds getting in and I am fearful of this Avian Flu. Any suggestions for revamping this run?
I can say after this many years that I probably wouldn't recommend an Omlet run as the spacing of the wire is just too big and allows birds to get into way toooooo easily.

You'd need to cover the entire thing with something like bird netting or better yet, hardware cloth, to keep small birds out. Any opening or gap larger than 1/2" or so should be covered.

From my understanding with the avian flu nothing short of an actual covered roof will do, but in this case because wild birds are coming in a roof will not do any good if you cannot fully exclude the birds as they'll be coming in and pooping inside your run area.
