what to do with this broody hen??

I had a similar problem with one of my silkies. I moved her after dark. That worked! And, yes, don't worry about a heat lamp....mama does it all just fine! Have fun...chicks are the best Xmas present.

kinda what I was thinking! thanks! It's not really anything I was banking on. Just thought I would let her give it a shot. I was thinking it would be nice to have some more yard birds, their eggs are yummy!

I would move her eggs and all too. I've had too many incidences where I didn't move my broody and later regretted it. Either the other hens harrassed her, kicked her eggs out of her nest or killed her chicks, or she got snatched by a predator. I will always seclude my broody to a safe quiet place from now on. If it breaks her broodiness, oh well, its better than losing a hen, losing eggs just days from hatching or finding a half dead pecked chick in the dirt!
