Meet Bing Crossbeak!
He has a pretty serious case of cross beak. I don't plan on keeping any of my boys. I take them to a rooster relief farm where roosters more or less fend for themselves. They have shelter food and water but I'm not sure how much individual attention they receive due to the high number of roos. As of now he's very active and I don't assist him eating or drinking. I'm willing to let his beak grow out to see if I can file it down but it's pretty severe. What would you do? I've never culled a bird and he seems ok as of now. Should I take him to the shelter when I take the rest of the boys in a few weeks and let him have his chance? Or would it be more merciful to cull and spare him from potential issues?
