What to expect with mareks

I took a hen to the emergency vet last week. She was put down and sent in for necropsy. The results were mareks. No obvious signs with any of the other hens. What should I be looking for so they don't have to suffer. When should expect the rest to get sick? I'm devastated. I love my chickens.
