What to feed chickens to lay more eggs.

Too much distilled water can be unhealthy too though, so be careful. Distilled water is great for detoxifying the body, as it's pretty aggresive in it's absorbtion properties, so it can strip the body of neccessary minerals and such. Of course all depends on the level of distillation and duration of comsumption.

I have read that too much protein can lead to kidney failure. Has anyone else read this? Can't quote where I read it. High protein may be good for the short term production of eggs but possibly cause long term damage to the hen. That being said...mine do get extra protein with things like eggs, yogurt, cottage cheese, sardines and occasional scraps of meat etc. They LOVE all of that.
I have in relationship to chicks so all my chick are on low protein until they begin to lay then at about 6 months I increase to a layer feed. There is a thread on relationship of protein to egg size.

Yes..that is the only feed I'm feeding. I also ferment whole grains such as, oats, wheat, barely, BOSS, etc.
Chris,

What brand is your ACV, and does it have the 'mother' in it? There are two kinds of ACVthe kind that is only 5% acidity, which is super watered down. And the ACV that has the 'mother' in it..I'd have to look on my bottle and see what the acidity was. It was more than 5%. I agree ACV that only has 5% will not work as a wormer.

Quote: So by your words Braggs is watered down stuff since it is only 5% acidity, What do you use?

Braggs is good and it is good for you too. It has the 'mother' in it.

Thank you, for your concerns. I heard about the cons of distilled water too, however, we have been drinking distilled water for 3 years and feel excellent. Our dogs are also healthy.
The ACV book by Bragg recommends to only drink distilled water and the Supreme Science Food Healing course also recommends distilled water. I am following those recommendations and have not noticed any contrary side effects.
