What to feed Coturnix quail chicks?

I am new to this site and also have a question about feed. My local feed store only carries 20% gamebird feed. I was wondering if i could mix a little soybean meal with this to up the protein? I have 95 jmf coturnix on lockdown. Would this be too much protein?

I don't know, i started my trio on gamebird feed, and the first two days that i had them, i got one egg each day, i had them for about a week with no other eggs, saturday i picked up layer feed and did a 1:1 ratio and gave that to them in the afternoon. Yesterday evening i got another egg. SO i'm going to stick with that for a while and see what happens

It depends on how much protein is in the soybean meal. Once you figure that out, you can use the calculator on Metzer's site to determine how much you need to add.
