What to feed ducks out of??

Hi guys!

My new ducks still aren't eating out of trough, what do you use to feed your ducks? I'm worried it may be a little too deep for them. I've inserted picture of what I use. Also how much should I be feeding 2 adult females? At the moment I'm giving them 340g a day but they aren't eating all of that.

I use goat feeders from TSC since I have chickens they can't get into these and scratch out the feed. That bowl doesn't look very deep. As far as feeding give them all they'll eat during the day any left over take up and save for the next day as long as it isn't yucked up with water.

Okay will give them all their food in the morning because at the moment I had been giving them morning and afternoon feed.

Layers need a lot of nutrition especially enriched with calcium or it will come out of their bones. So good feed either layer or all flock with oyster shell in separate bowl.

I use a rubber dish much like yours except mine appears to be deeper. My ducks are allowed to feed at their discretion during the day, the dish is always full. Try putting some fresh greens or mealworms on top of their food in the dish.

Thank you! Will give them all food in the morning for them to eat throughout the day! They seem to enjoy kale so will try that!

I use metal bowsl, though may transition to rubber I'm not sure yet. My ducks and ducklings haven't had a problem with them Plus my adult ducks don't eat a great deal but they have food available all day until the night. My ducklings have food available at all times of the day until they are older. You can give them Kale no problem! My ducks aren't hugely keen on it though haha! Lettuce is their absolute fave.

So how do you guys not waste any food because mine get it all soggy and I worry about mold. Usually the chickens can't wait to get some of the soggy food, they seem to like it, so before I toss it I let them have some. I don't like how much gets tossed.

I don't keep my chickens and ducks in the same area but for my ducks their water and food dishes are on opposite areas of the run.

Right now mine are in the bathtub, not much room to seperate, so I'm hoping that makes a difference?
