What to feed Ducks?

Yep, my drakes ignore it. I'll warn you though, it's packed(at least here) in this teeny brown paper bag that weighs 50lbs

Here to.

Thanks for the response. I will check out the flock raiser. I think TSC stocks it. Oyster shells are also a good idea. Thanks.

Yep! The "little" bags of oyster shell and grit are almost impossible to lift -- even the guys at the loading dock of the feed store whine.

Somehow, though, we can all manage the bags of feed that weigh the same.

It's has to be the size of the bag, it's put in such a smaller package, packed so tight.. it's like concrete i swear! i mean, i have the 50lbs bags of flock raiser, lift that.. 50lb bags of horse feed can lift that.. but that shell and chick grit? oye i feel like i'm trying to lift an elephant!

I am not sure what to feed my ducks. My only local supply store is a TSC. Most of their feed is for chickens. Can I feed them a grower food for chickens? It has a 15% protein. I also read if the ducks are free range it is okay to give scratch grain as feed since they get a lot of their protein from foraging and eating bugs etc. Any information would be helpful.

15% is an OK protein amount at that age. I recommend you buy or borrow the book, Storey's Guide to Raising Ducks, by Dave Holderread. It will answer most, if not all, of your questions. There's also some info on Metzer Farms' website: http://www.metzerfarms.com/NutritionalRequirements.cfm?CustID=1102703
