What To Feed Turkeys

I have a custom mix made at the local mill. It is 25.44%, and I feed this to all my birds, and I give them cracked corn as well.
The chickens will pick out the lower % mix from what I have read and were told by some experts. I also give calcium on the side for the laying hens, as to make sure they are getting enough.

Here is the mix for the 25.44% protein feed.

500# corn, 100# oats, 350# egg maker concentrate, 10# dibasic calcium phosphate, and 300# organic soy bean meal. The last time I purchased this mix it was $248 for 1260#.

We just added 5 BB's to our homestead. Wondering what the thought is on using a chicken chick starter at 21% then fish meal to increase it to 28%. You think that would cover their needs?
Thanks.

Hi I have layer hens, broiler chickens and turkeys all in same coop/run is there one type of feed I can make or buy for them all??

I use Chick start NON-GMO, Organic with no corn or soy and also give plain Greek yogurt with garlic and parsley. I learned this from http://www.countryfarm-lifestyles.com/raising-turkeys.html and I was really successful last year. I lost one from stupidity (got him wet cleaning his backside later I learned they needed more grit). It’s a lot more work but I have a lot of fun and they all know and come to my call.

We feed ours chicken feed. We fed them crumbled when younger and pellets when the are older. During summer/spring we feed them watermelon, squash, cucumber, etc. with their food.
Our turkeys aren't a year yet and they are on pellets, when they are around 7 (estimate) months or when you think they are ready for pellets.

we have 10 BBB coming tomorrow and i still can not find a turkey starter in my area and i did check severaly co ops.
i have plenty of chick feed and am curious if there is anything i can add to this feed to up the protein? im rather frustrated about this all, turkeys were supposed to be his thing and here we are the night before and im trying to cram my head full of turkey knowledge. dang it! haha i should of known better!

i see that custom blended mix and am curios if anyone with more co-op experience knows wether i could get it in smaller quantities? lord knows i wont go thru that with only 10 birds
i guess ultimately i hope i can you the starters i already have and just supplement accordingly?

27 percent gamebird feed is what I feed mine.

Most farm stores carry a 22 percent meatbird feed which is for broilers and or turkeys. Which your bbb are. Broiler turkeys.

Until you potentially find some higher protein feed. For a short period you could mix in a little cat food or floating fish food in with your chick starter.

They won't show much sign other than slower growth.

But if you have broad breasted variety. It probably better for them.

They grow at an astounding rate anyway
