What to pay for Pullets?

It must be my lucky day, I just found 3 buff orpington last springs hens, one new hampshire red same age and one buff orpington pullet about 4 months old for $5 each right up the road from me

Most I've ever paid for a pullet was $15, but she's such a sweetie I would have paid it for her even if she DIDN'T lay us beautiful 2.3 ounce blue eggs every day!

I found 7 free pullets/young hens!
There was 11 of them, but their dog got ahold of a few of them.
Im picking them up tomorrow, no clue about breeds though.

In my area, most EE and other pullets / hens go for $15-$20 each (I did pay $25 each for some pure ameraucanas).
