Well both of my 2 pigeons that I had turned out to be males. I went back and forth on if they were a pair or both males and turns out both were males. Today my friend gave me 2 female pigeons and and both males instantly started bowing and cooing to their new lady friends:)

What do I use as nest's?
how big?
Will they nest on the floor of the loft befor i get the nest's or will they wait until I get them?
Thanks for any info:)

I use straw and hay, they seem to be light enough to be easily moved however they should be small enough if the pigeons want to redesign their nests. Pine needles seem to be to more brittle.Tabacco Stems suposobly are a "vermin reducer" but are hard to manuver. I havn't had good luck with sand it seem to be colder.

Mine seem content finding their own nesting material from whatever is around: hay, stray, grass, twigs, etc. They are amazing creatures!

I Always Use Carpet Pads Or Something That The Babies Can Grip As They Get Bigger . The Plastic Dog Bowls Are Good And Easy To Clean But Lack Texture If The Nesting Materail Falls Out

I use pine needles (long leaf). I only use straw when I have to. It's more quickly to mold and house bacteria/bugs than pine needles. They might nest on the floor if not given any other choice, but they prefer nest boxes.
