Don’t know if this is where to get good information or not. I have a cherry tree that needs to be sprayed for worms. What is a good one to use that won’t harm my girls?

worms in the cherries, fruit fly?
or borers in the tree which lay eggs then turn to grubs?
Need to identify the insect first then figure how to treat it.
Once figured how to treat it, look up the active ingredient and check its effects.
There may be biodegradable products on the market which may treat your problem.
If you spray the tree and if the spray is bad for chickens , maybe you can fence it off for awhile for any over spray of product that drips from the tree.
Sorry prolly not much help.

Guessing tent caterpillars I get them in my peach and cherry trees. Chickens won't even eat them. If it is what I do is burn the nest with a propane torch. They normally don't hang around after.

Could be grubs. I’ll have to look into it more. All I know is it’s supposed to be sprayed during flowering. Whatever it is lives in the cherry. Thank you. I’ll take any advice I can get.

I believe this is what it is.
cherry fruit fly. If the tree is fruited and getting ripe prolly to late to treat as the fruit flies have laid their eggs.

Is it OK to eat cherries with worms?
Expert Response. Consuming fruit fly larvae is not harmful, but most Americans don't prefer to have a little extra protein with their fruit so will not consume them. . If you can the fruit most of the worms will float to the top of the jar and can be removed. They are not harmful.Jun 30, 2018

How do you get rid of worms in cherries?
Home gardeners have two materials available to them for cherry fruit fly control. One is malathion, an organophosphate insecticide. The other is spinosad, which is considered an organic material.Jul 13, 2012
