what to use for connectors for steel wire 2x4 fencing?

When I stretched my fence, I started out using the metal clips that came with it. Very akward and hard to use, IMO. Started using the zip ties, and LOVE them. I agree, even if you don't use the special UV rated ones, they are cheap and easy to replace. Somewhere out there, there's gotta be a book "1001 Uses for a Zip Tie"

zipp ties worked great for me & they are cheap enough get mine at dollar general but the cage clamps at TS are by far stronger thay are metal, thay both work good.

Another vote for Loxit rings. Faster to install and stronger than zip ties. I also use chain link tension wire at the joints if no backer fence is already there such as a chain link kennel.

If I'm doing a seam over a chain link kennel I use the chain link as the supporting wire for the seams...

I also use J-clips and they sell a special plyer that works with them. They're quick and easy, and really hold up. Don't waste time using zip ties, those things last maybe 6 months and then dry rot in the sun. I've been there and done that with both and J-clips are an awesome answer.

I can also say that I've taken the thin wire that they use to wrap up chicken wire rolls or other fencing and weave it around the seam which holds well too. Not as clean and it sometimes causes bowing though. J-clips keep things clean.
