I haven't gone to view the carnage myself, but according to my boyfriend they where pretty much 'ripped to shreds'. Whatever it was, it took everyone over the fence and into the neighbor's field behind the house.

Previous week:
1 fully sized yearling rooster (I think he perched/flew the fence and was snagged, I clipped him on both wings but that apparently didn't stop him)

Then in one night:
4 silkie hens
1 Japanese Bantam hen
1 Sebright hen
3 pigeons

Two days after that...
1 adult, HEAVY, Cayuga drake! How on earth it got HIM over the fence I will never know. It must been an awesome feat of strength.

I got traps from a friend and I'm going to (hopefully) catch whatever ate my birds.

The only plus out of this is that my two remaining adult drakes, a Rouen and a Swedish Blue cross, go obediently into their duck house when the sun goes down. Before I had to chase them in circles around the yard to either catch them or herd them in. Now all I do in the evening is check that their all snuggled in and okay before locking the door.
My ducklings, however, are a different story
