If you go to the American Poultry Association website, you can order a Standard of Perfection (I got the black and white version - $14 vs $59) That may give you a better idea what to look for. I would base my decision on the standard, but personality plays a huge part in who I might keep. Just because he's almost perfect doesn't cut it with me if he tries to kill me every time I go in to feed him. Personality traits are genetic, too. Keep someone you can live with, since his offspring could grow to behave the way he does. That goes for the girls as well. I don't want to do battle with a hen just to feed or collect eggs (broody hens do get away with murder at my house, tho!)
