What treat did your chickies get today?

I made a chicken salad bar out of weeds I pulled today! I did it the other day and they pecked the stalks clean. Gives me an excuse not to do all of the weeding at once!


I took a old plastic storage container and filled the bottom with dirt for weight, placed in all of the weeds I pulled and filled it with water to keep them fresh. They won't eat stuff off the ground if I toss it in, so this was the solution. Picky Picky!

I never even thought of doing this!!! Awesome idea. I'm going to do it next time I'm in the garden.I will give mine grass clippings and if I dig out a new spot for plants I give them the sod clumps.

My cockerel will be going to a new home this weekend. We cannot have ROOs in the city limits. I gave him a tomato last night as a special treat...he deffinately enjoyed it.

I'm glad that I was able to find him a home; he will be greatly missed.

Strawberries were a HUGE hit with my picky girls. I'm thinning my beets and radishes and they like the sprouts, too.

I chopped up strawberries into bite-sized pieces, then added just enough water to cover them, then stuck them into the freezer in plastic cups
